FAQs

Where are you based?

We are a mobile sauna taking advantage of some of the best locations in Northern Ireland to enjoy a wild sauna in nature. We keep our social media and website booking section up-to-date with our location.

How Do I Book?

Please go to the ‘Booking’ section of the website. If your preferred date or time isn’t listed, please email us at info@wildfinnsauna.com.

What can I expect on the day?

Lots of heat with like-minded people. You’ll arrive to a hot sauna, ready to feel the benefits of this age-old tradition.

Leave your belongings in the car and use the horseshoe hooks on the sauna for robes, etc.

Enter the sauna wearing your swimsuit and immerse yourself in the gentle heat of the sauna.

Our sauna is typically heated to about 70-80 degrees Celsius.

Throw water on the stove using the bucket and the ladle provided. Lots of hot löyly (steam) will enhance the experience.

What Should I Bring With me?

  1. Swimsuit

  2. Flip-flops or Croc style shoes

  3. Two towels, one to sit on and one to dry yourself with

  4. A bottle of water to keep you hydrated during and after the session

We would encourage you to come ‘sauna ready’, ie. Free of makeup/fragrance/body lotion, wearing your swimsuit as it will be quicker to get changed.

We provide a small gazebo for you to get dressed, when possible. If it’s too windy for the gazebo, you can get quickly changed in the sauna.

Can children come along?

Children are welcome but must be accompanied at all times by a parent or a guardian. Please let us know if you are attending with an under 16 year old before the session.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, please email us at info@wildfinnsauna.com.

Do you offer discounted rates?

We can offer discounted rates to registered charities and community groups.

Please email us at info@wildfinnsauna.com for more details.

How long should I stay in the sauna?

We would recommend 10-15 minutes in, a few minutes out throughout your session. We also have cold showers and occasionally a plunge pool depending on our location and it is recommended that you alternate between hot and cold for maximum health benefits.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured.

If you have any medical conditions or concerns, please consult your GP prior to booking.

How often is the sauna cleaned?

Due to the hot temperature, the sauna is naturally self cleaning. However, we ensure the sauna is thoroughly inspected and sterilised between each booking by using gentle cleaning products. We encourage all users to adhere to our hygiene guidelines (only sit on a towel and wearing suitable footwear).

Can I use the sauna while I’m ill?

No, please don’t use the sauna while ill. This is to ensure a healthy experience for yourself and other sauna users. Please contact us if you are unfortunate to become ill before your booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer a full refund if your cancellation is made 48 hours before your booking. We may be able to offer an alternative slot, please email us at to info@wildfinnsauna.com to check availability.

What are sauna hats for?

Sauna hats are designed to protect your head and hair from the extreme temperatures. You can wear it dry or wet by immersing it in cold water, depending on your preference. It is also totally fine to enjoy the sauna without one.
